BIMF is a unique, performance based, international chamber music and master class course for strings, wind, piano and harpsichord. The aim of the course is to give young, accomplished musicians, (age 16-32) the opportunity to explore and perform main-stream and unusual repertoire in a number of concerts, some of which are open to the public. Individuals and ready formed groups attend. With 60-70 students from around 25 countries and 11 professors on site, the festival is a wonderful meeting ground for international young musicians, both students and professionals. It is a place where the musicians make friends and enduring connections, which carry on into professional life. The BIMF professors are established performers and teachers in UK and European Conservatories and they share their broad experience with those taking part during chamber music coaching sessions and daily classes. Charterhouse is one of England’s most prestigious private schools with excellent accommodation and superb facilities. BIMF offers scholarships and bursaries with the help and support of a number of generous sponsors.
